Fostering connections to create healthy and successful families
How we Connect Solve problems Inspire success Spark action
At the HopeStar Foundation, we focus on the health and development of children and families, with an emphasis on the continuum between preconception to age five. We collaborate with philanthropy, nonprofits, government, and community stakeholders to identify barriers, convene experts, propose innovative solutions, and fund pilot programs to test creative approaches that build on the strengths of families and communities.
North Carolina’s greatest resource is our people – and our state’s policies, programs, and systems can either block or unlock the full potential of our children and families. When we work together to create the conditions that allow children and caregivers to develop nurturing relationships, access efficient health services, and live and work with dignity, we tap into the human potential in North Carolina’s communities.
Mission
Strengthen community connections to ensure all families with children prenatal to age five have the resources and support to grow healthy, educated, and empowered.
Vision
To give all children born in the Carolina’s the same opportunity to thrive.
The earliest investments yield the greatest returns.

Nurture NC
A Hopestar initiative
Nurture NC is a Hopestar Foundation initiative focused on helping every mother and baby in North Carolina thrive. By working with local partners, health systems, and advocates, Nurture NC supports efforts that make pregnancy, birth, and early parenting safer and more supported, no matter where a family lives.
Hopestar and Nurture NC share one mission: to build a healthier future for families. Hopestar provides the heart and resources behind the work, while Nurture NC brings that mission to life through hands-on programs, community connections, and policy change that nurtures North Carolina from the ground up.
